Patrick C. McGinnis is a Shareholder at the firm and his practice includes counseling privately-held businesses on matters that include entity formation, governance, mergers and acquisitions, business reorganizations, and day-to-day business issues. In so doing, Patrick regularly drafts and negotiates shareholder agreements, bylaws, operating agreements, employment agreements, service agreements, independent contractor agreements, promissory notes, licensing agreements, and confidentiality agreements. Patrick also has extensive experience in purchase and sale transactions for residential and commercial real estate, includes drafting and negotiating transaction documents such as purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and financing documents, and coordinating 1031 exchanges. Patrick also handles zoning, probate, and estate planning matters.
Patrick has been practicing law since 2014 and is licensed in Illinois and Florida. Patrick graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University and cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Prior to joining the Firm, Patrick was an Analyst with Gerchen Keller Capital, LLC, an investment and advisory firm focused on legal and regulatory risk, where he worked on deal sourcing and origination. Patrick is also an active member of the La Grange Business Association and the Small Business Advocacy Council.
Patrick lives in Countryside with his wife, Kirstin, daughters, Maeve, Isla and Shea, son, Teague, and dog, Milly, and in his free time he coaches his kid’s sports teams and spends time at his lake house in Wisconsin.
